Three Trees Portfolio Award – The Winner

We are delighted to announce the winner if the inaugural Three Trees Portfolio Award 2021.

Congratulations to Susan Jordan whose collection, Last of the Line will be published as a special Three Trees Edition in October 2021.

Three Trees Portfolio Award

Three Trees Portfolio Award 2021

• One winner will have their short collection published and receive 20 copies plus our standard publishing agreement. In addition, the winning author can choose up to three UK based non-profit organisations (schools, colleges, reading groups, etc) where a maximum of thirty copies of the collection will be distributed.

• Please submit a maximum of 25 pages of poetry as one Word attachment. Include a cover sheet with the name of the collection plus a brief synopsis of the theme/themes within the collection. Each page should have no more than 32 lines (including stanza breaks) – this does not include the title of the poem.

• Entry Fee: £15 per submission.

• Closing Date: 30th April 2021

• Online entries only.

1. Each poem in the selection should be typed using a serif font on a single page. For poems that are in excess of 32 lines then please continue on an extra page but the overall page count must not exceed 25. The poetry must be the authors own work.

2. Entries are judged anonymously – please do not place any identifying marks on the collection other than the title of the work.

3. The work may have been published previously but not as a complete collection. The author must have full rights to publish the work.

4. To submit – simply purchase a submission from our on-line store. You will then receive a shipping notification email (please allow up to 8 hours). Send your submission by return email with the shipping notification – this will also act as proof of purchase and allows a variety of payment methods. Include the title of your collection in the text of your email. Do not put any personal detail son the attachment – the work will be judged anonymously by the Maytree editorial team.

5. The winning collection will be up to 36 pages in total and published late 2021 as a Three Trees Edition.

6. More than one entry may be submitted however each entry should be sent separately with the shipping confirmation.

7. By submitting to this competition you are agreeing to allow Maytree Press and The Poetry Village to publish details of winners/short and longlisted entrants to be published on the associated websites and social media platforms.

8. The longlist will be published in June 2021 – entrants may withdraw their work prior to this date. Fees are non-refundable.
